Founded in Oklahoma City
Sooner Scale Inc. opened in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1969 as a sales and service company in the commercial weighing industry. Oklahoma City put the company in the center of a state built on ranching, agriculture, and commercial enterprise. Ranchers in western Oklahoma, feedyards in the Panhandle, grain operations along the Red River corridor, and commercial businesses throughout the metro all needed reliable weighing equipment and a service company that answered the phone.
Those early relationships shaped everything. The commitment to field service, direct customer contact, and practical problem-solving that started on Southwest 14th Street in Oklahoma City is still how Sooner Scale Inc. operates today.
1976
Manufacturing Facility Opens
in Konawa, Oklahoma
Seven years after opening in Oklahoma City, Sooner Scale Inc. established its manufacturing facility in Konawa, Oklahoma. That was a foundational decision.
Building our own scales meant controlling quality from the start of production. It meant offering custom configurations no catalog company could match. It meant being able to modify a design when a customer had an application nobody had built for before. And it meant backing up every unit with the knowledge of the people who built it.

The above-ground pitless design Sooner Scale Inc. developed has proven to be a practical and cost-effective approach. Eliminating the concrete pit removed tens of thousands of dollars in site preparation costs and made scales portable for the first time in any practical sense. That design is still the foundation of our entire product line.
Today the Konawa facility is where every Sooner Scale Inc. unit is manufactured, inspected, and certified before it leaves for a customer site anywhere in the country.

Every scale we manufacture carries NTEP certification, the federal legal requirement for any commercial weighing transaction in the United States. Our service team performs NTEP recertification in the field. If your certification has lapsed or you are not sure, contact us.
Scale Indicator and Data Integration Capability
Our equipment is compatible with digital weight indicators that support data output for herd management applications, including average daily gain, individual animal performance, and weight history. Ask us about indicator options when you contact us.
